Afghanistan war logs: Massive leak of secret files exposes truth of occupation

An unprecedented collaboration between whistle-blowing site Wikileaks, the Guardian, the New York Times and Der Spiegel, gave an amazing insight into how the war in Afghanistan was being conducted. Based on the US military’s internal logs of the conflict, the Afghan war logs were the first of three major releases of classified information during the year. The second tranche of data was published in October: more than 390,000 secret military reports detailed the hidden realities of the war in Iraq.
